Shawnee County Sheriff's Office Victim Assistance Unit is to
serve all victims of crime regardless of age, sex, or social
background. We are available, as first responders, to provide immediate
and continuous access and contact to victims of crime for emergency and
non-emergency situations through the conclusion of their respective
cases.

YWCA Battered Women Task Force
Provides 24-hour shelter, intervention, counseling, referral service,
support groups, and special intervention for children at the shelter.
Services also include educational programs on sexual assault
prevention, alternative to battering and safety planning.

The Crime Victims' Assistance Program identifies and provides direct
comprehensive services to victims of violent crime, including sexual

SafeStreets
Safe Streets is committed in assisting victims by providing
neighborhood watch services which address crime and safety issues being
experienced in the neighborhood. Safe Streets also offers free
confidential mediation services to assist in resolving conflicts and
disputes peacefully. Conflicts addressed can involve noise
disturbances, land use, racial conflict, youth, landlord/tenant, pets
as well as everyday neighborhood issues.
